In the ABA area we find 17 ecoregions in the major habitat type (MHT) of Temperate Broadleaf and Mixed Forests. For the most part they are found in eastern and southeastern North America but the Willamette Valley Forests are in Washington and Oregon.
Also grouped here is the single Tropical Moist Broadleaf Forest ecoregion: the South Florida Rocklands, the ecoregion of the Florida Keys. Two other ecoregions of this MHT mentioned in the book Terrestrial Ecoregions of North America are found in Hawaii and Puerto Rico.
