Under this grouping of grasslands , I include ecoregions of two different major habitat types (MHTs), as defined by WWF.
In the ABA area we find 16 ecoregions in the MHT of Temperate Grasslands/Savanna/Shrub. They are essentially the grassland ecoregions of the Great Plains/Prairies as well as a few shrub ecoregion outliers in the western mountains and along the Gulf coast. These are the ecoregions that begin with NA08
There is only a single ecoregion in the ABA area of the Flooded Grasslands major habitat type – the Everglades.
