To the uninitiated, tundra may be tundra, but WWF has delineated no less than 16 ecoregions in the Tundra major habitat type in the ABA area (I have not included the area labelled “Permanent Ice”). These ecoregions extend across Alaska and the far north of Canada and extend southward in high altitude areas of the Rocky Mountains to northern British Columbia.
