The ecoregion extends in the US from southern Michigan through most of Indiana and Ohio, extends into a small part of Pennsylvania just north of Pittsburgh and follows the southern edge of Lake Erie and Lake Ontario into New York, including the urban areas of Buffalo and Rochester. In Canada, it occupies extreme southern Ontario essentially from Toronto to the southwest.
